School Leaders: Leading for Impact

The principal will be the coach for the 5 vice principals and 1 school operations manager on the school leadership team.  As the principal the person serves as the lead implementer ensuring the BRICK model (academic and social emotional) is implemented with fidelity. The role will require previous leadership experience and proven results in coaching and leading adults.

The Vice Principal is an instructional leader that is a visionary and is relentlessly looking for new ways to improve. The ideal candidate needs to be able to set high expectations, provide continuous feedback to their staff, create a culture of achievement, invest in the development of their staff and find effective solutions to problems that arise. The leader’s actions must always be aligned with our mission and core values. The ideal candidate also needs to possess a genuine love and concern for the success of their staff and students.    

The BRICK Education Network separates the core responsibilities of running a school day-to-day into three primary functions: Instruction, Operations, and Social Emotional Learning.  The VP of Culture will serve as the school leader that supports the social emotional team and leads the school’s work on student identity development and trauma informed practices infused in all levels of instructional and social emotional programming.  The role should be largely strategic and proactive and not reactive. The ideal candidate has experience creating and/or implementing restorative practices that focus on child development and not discipline or control.  Experience working in mental or behavioral health settings is preferred. 

The School Leader in Residence (SLR) is a step towards becoming a Principal or Vice Principal at BRICK Education Network. The residency is a full-time, paid learning opportunity that provides the SLR with knowledge, best practices, and leadership development from a current BEN principal. As a SLR, you will serve as a member of the school’s leadership team and gain hands-on leadership experience. The SLR will also be supported and evaluated by the Chief Academic Officer. The ideal candidate’s actions must always be aligned with our mission and core values as well as possess a genuine love and concern for the success of their teachers and students. Upon completion of the residency, the SLR will be ready to serve as a School Leader (Vice Principal or Principal) of a BEN school.

The School Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational systems and infrastructure of the school. The SOM will work alongside the Principal to ensure that the school is run in an orderly and effective manner. The SOM also works closely with the network office to design and implement effective operational systems. The SOM must have experience leading the operations of a charter school previously. Supervisor or Administrator certification is not required but is preferred.

The Office Manager serves as the epicenter for the BRICK Education Network staff and for the office.  The office manager will oversee all internal and external inquiries.  The Office Manager also assists senior team members with scheduling.
